(1) The Minister of Employment and Labor may, in order to promote equal employment of men and women in workplaces, commission a person who is recommended jointly by labor and management from among the employees of the relevant workplace as an honorary supervisor for equal employment (hereinafter referred to as “honorary supervisor”). <Amended on Jun. 4, 2010; May 26, 2020>
(2) An honorary supervisor shall perform the following duties: <Amended on Jun. 4, 2010>
1. Counseling and advising employees who become victims upon the occurrence of discrimination or workplace sexual harassment at the relevant workplace;
2. Participating in autonomous inspections of, and guidance on, the status of equal employment at the relevant workplace;
3. Recommending improvements to the employer and filing reports with the supervisory agency on matters involving violations of statutes or regulations;
4. Publicizing and promoting awareness of the equal employment system;
5. Other duties determined by the Minister of Employment and Labor to realize equal employment of men and women.
(3) No employer shall take any disadvantageous personnel measures, or any other unfavorable measures, against an employee on the grounds that they have duly performed their duties as an honorary supervisor.
(4) Matters necessary for the commissioning, decommissioning, etc. of honorary supervisors shall be prescribed by Decree of the Ministry of Employment and Labor. <Amended on Jun. 4, 2010>[This Article Wholly Amended on Dec. 21, 2007]
