(1) No special agreement contrary to Article 794 between the parties to reduce or exclude any obligation or liability of a shipowner as prescribed by this Section shall be valid. The same shall also apply to an agreement whereby the benefit of insurance concerning cargo is transferred to a shipowner, or any other similar agreement.
(2) The provisions of Article 799 (2) shall apply mutatis mutandis in cases falling under paragraph (1).[This Article Wholly Amended by Act No. 8581, Aug. 3, 2007]
