(1) No special agreement between the parties to reduce or exclude any obligation or liability of a carrier contrary to the provisions of Articles 794 through 798 shall be valid. The same shall also apply to an agreement to transfer to a carrier the benefit of insurance concerning the cargo, or a similar agreement.
(2) The provisions of paragraph (1) shall not apply to the transportation of live animals and transportation of cargo loaded on deck with the statement of such intent to transport in a bill of lading or on the surface of other documents evidencing a transportation contract.[This Article Wholly Amended by Act No. 8581, Aug. 3, 2007]
