(1) When collecting or utilizing information on consumers (including provision of such information to a third party; hereinafter the same shall apply) for an electronic commerce transaction or mail order, he or she shall do so fairly pursuant to the relevant provisions, such as the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection(2) Where a customer suffers or is likely to suffer damage to his or her property as a result of the illegal use of his or her information in the transaction of goods, etc., the business operator shall take necessary measures prescribed by Presidential Decree, such as verification of identity or recovery from damage.[This Article Wholly Amended on Feb. 17, 2012]
