(1) A carrier shall have the right to sell cargo at auction with the permission of the court and receive the preferential payment in order to receive the amount specified in Article 807 (1).
(2) Even if a shipmaster has delivered the cargo to a consignee, the carrier may exercise the right specified in paragraph (1) for such cargo: Provided, That the same shall not apply when 30 days have passed from the date of delivery or a third party has acquired the possession of such cargo.[This Article Wholly Amended by Act No. 8581, Aug. 3, 2007]
