(1) A person having a right of retention may sell the retained article at an auction in satisfaction of his or her claim.
(2) A person having a right of retention, if he or she has justifiable reasons, may request the court to apply the retained article to the satisfaction of his or her claim at the price estimated by an appraiser. In such a case, the person having a right of retention shall inform the debtor of it in advance.
