Trademark Act — Article 31 (Reporting on Use of Electronic Documents and Electronic Signature)

(1) Any person who intends to follow trademark-related procedures in electronic documents shall file a report on the use of electronic documents with the Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office or the President of the Intellectual Property Trial and Appeal Board, and affix his or her electronic signature to documents submitted to the Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual property Office or the President of the Intellectual Property Trial and Appeal Board to enable recognition of the person who submits such documents.

(2) Electronic documents submitted pursuant to Article 30 shall be deemed submitted by a person who has affixed his or her electronic signature under paragraph (1).

(3) Matters necessary for procedures for reporting the use of electronic documents under paragraph (1) and methods of applying electronic signatures shall be prescribed by Ordinance of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
