(1) The Commissioner General of the Korean National Police Agency may designate a dedicated institution in charge of international exchange of technology, international standardization, international joint research and development, etc. to facilitate international cooperation related to road traffic.
(2) If a person designated pursuant to paragraph (1) falls under any of the following subparagraphs, the Commissioner General of the Korean National Police Agency may revoke the designation of the dedicated institution or suspend all or part of its business operations for a specified period not exceeding six months; provided, in cases falling under subparagraph 1, the designation shall be revoked:
1. If it has been designated by fraud or other improper means;
2. Where it no longer meets the criteria for designation under paragraph (3).
(3) Matters necessary for the designation and operation of a dedicated institution under paragraph (1) and the revocation of designation, suspension of its business operations, etc. under paragraph (2) shall be prescribed by Presidential Decree.[This Article Added on Mar. 19, 2024]
