(1) Under circumstances prescribed by Presidential Decree such as a rapid rise in unemployment, the Minister of Employment and Labor may pay extra job-seeking benefits to eligible recipients, in addition to the specified number of days for which benefits are payable, for a period not exceeding 60 days for which they obtain recognition of unemployment; provided, the same shall not apply to a person whose income is determined to be adequate to ensure security of livelihood after job-leaving under the criteria set forth by Decree of the Ministry of Employment and Labor. <Amended on Jun. 4, 2010>
(2) Before making any additional benefits available, the Minister of Employment and Labor shall set the period during which additional job-seeking benefits under the main clause of paragraph (1) (hereinafter referred to as "special extended benefits") are payable. <Amended on Jun. 4, 2010>
