(1) A person who commits any crime of Articles 276 through 280 to injure another person shall be punished by imprisonment with labor for a limited term of at least one year. If it results in death, the perpetrator shall be punished by imprisonment with labor for a limited term of at least three years.
(2) A person who commits any crime of Articles 276 through 280 against a lineal ascendant of his or her own or his or her spouse to injure the lineal ascendant shall be punished by imprisonment for a limited term of at least two years. If it results in death, the perpetrator shall be punished by imprisonment for an indefinite term or for at least five years.[This Article Wholly Amended on Dec. 29, 1995]
