Civil Act — Article 937 (Grounds for disqualification as guardians)

민법 제937조

None of the following persons shall become a guardian: <Amended on Dec. 20, 2016>

1. A minor;

2. A person under adult guardianship, limited guardianship, specific guardianship, or voluntary guardianship;

3. A person adjudged to commence rehabilitation procedures or declared bankrupt;

4. A person who has been sentenced to suspension of qualification or heavier punishment and is in serving the term of punishment;

5. A legal representative who has been removed by the court;6. a guardian under adult guardianship, limited guardian, specific guardian, voluntary guardian or his or her supervisor who has been removed by the court;

7. A person whose whereabouts is unknown;

8. A person who has brought or is bringing an action against the ward;

9. The spouse of the person prescribed in subparagraph 8 and his or her lineal blood relatives; provided, the lineal descendants of the ward shall be excluded.[This Article Wholly Amended on Mar. 7, 2011]
