No pledger shall, by a contract effected before the debt becomes due, agree that the pledgee shall, by way of satisfaction of his or her claim, acquire the ownership of the pledged article or dispose of it otherwise than in the manner provided for by Acts. <Amended on Dec. 30, 2014>
