(1) If the whole or part of the subject matter of chonsegwon is destroyed by an act of God over which the party has no control, the chonsegwon over the portion destroyed shall be extinguished.
(2) If, in the case of partial destruction under the preceding paragraph, the person having chonsegwon cannot achieve the objective of chonsegwon with the remaining part, he or she may notify the settlor of chonsegwon of his or her intention to extinguish the entire chonsegwon and may demand the return of the deposit money.
