(1) Each co-owner may demand a partition of the article jointly owned, but the co-owners may agree not to partition the article for a period not exceeding five years.
(2) Such agreement as mentioned in the preceding paragraph may be renewed, but its duration cannot exceed five years from the time of renewal.
(3) The preceding two paragraphs shall not apply to articles jointly owned under Articles 215 through 239.
