(1) Where a deficiency arises in the legal reserve of inheritance of a person entitled to legal reserve of inheritance due to a gift prescribed in Article 1114 or a testamentary gift made by the inheritee, such person may claim payment of the value of the property to the extent of such deficiency. In such cases, interest shall accrue from the date on which the claim for payment of value is made. <Amended on Mar. 17, 2026>
(2) With respect to paragraph (1), when two or more persons receive the gifts or testamentary gifts, they shall return the same proportions as their shares of the testamentary gifts.[This Article Added on Dec. 31, 1977][Title Amended on Mar. 17, 2026]
